Following the success of the critically acclaimed production of Rebecca Gilman’s Spinning Into Butter, NewGate Theatre reconnects with another part of their mission statement – bringing fresh new voices to the Providence stage. The Sacred and the Profane: a festival of short plays is a collection of new short comedies that touch upon topics ranging from angels to demons to pornography…and just about everything in between. This evening of seven inventive and compelling pieces will be performed in Edwards Hall at the Bell Street Chapel, an intimate space that has served as NewGate’s temporary home for the past year.

Whether you hope to soar with the angels, or wish to engage in more earthly (or even demonic) pursuits, be sure to join NewGate Theatre for a sometimes heavenly, occasionally devilish evening of new comedies. Don’t miss The Sacred and the Profane!

For further info, or to reserve seats for Press Night on June 13th. Please call 401-454-0454 or e-mail press@newgatetheatre.org.

Special Performance:

On Thursday, June 17th at 7pm, NewGate will present a staged reading of Dave Christner’s compelling new play – A Little Lower Than the Angels. Please contact the NewGate office for further details.
